If you haven't tried It Cosmetics, then you need to get yourself to the shops, because this is a brand that is changing the beauty scene one CC Cream at a time. I was first introduced to the brand 4 years ago in New York, when I was in Sephora searching for something to help hide the redness in my sensitive skin. It Cosmetics was relatively new at the time, and their Your Skin But Better CC Cream was still relatively unknown, especially to the UK and Irish market as the brand was unavailable over here. What I'm about to say next is nothing short of an understatement, but this CC Cream has changed my make up routine ever since. Since that first experience, I've been hooked on the brand ever since, and have tried so many of their products, building my collection every time I get the chance to go back to the States. The good news is, you don't need to fly to the US anymore to buy It Cosmetics as their range is available at Selfridges (in London, Manchester and Birmingham) and now at Arnotts (Ireland). The company have also recently launched a UK website which delivers to the UK only.
Read on below to find my reviews of my favourite It Cosmetics products. Just an FYI, but this review is not sponsored and any gushing comes from how much I bloody love this stuff that I paid for with my own overdraft! Thanks HSBC!
It Cosmetic's original Your Skin But Better CC Cream was the first product from the brand that I tried and I was blown away. It completely covered any redness on my skin without feeling heavy or look too made up. They couldn't have chosen a better name for this product; it truly is your skin - just heaps better looking! It's a buildable full coverage product, but can be worn as light to medium coverage, still managing to give your skin the best complexion, leaving it looking fresh and dewy. Developed with plastic surgeons, the formula contains hydrating properties, anti-aging skin care, SPF 50, a brightening colour corrector, pores appear reduced and helps conceal dark spots. One of the best things about it is how long lasting it is. I usually apply it once, and then i'm good for the rest of the day. I'm a big fan of any product that can be applied with your fingers, and this is one of those foundations. You can apply it like a tinted moisturiser, and gently pat in the product with your fingers. This method works well if you want a light coverage, however for medium coverage the results look better when applied with a brush or a sponge. The CC Cream comes in 7 shades, I wear the light shade.
Building upon the success of the original CC Cream, It Cosmetics have made 2 variations: CC Cream Illumination and their newest product CC Cream Oil Free Matte. The Illumination formula does everything the original CC Cream does, but is infused with light reflecting pigments giving your skin a subtle radiant glow, without any use of glitter. The Matte formulation is my new favourite. It's oil free and hides your skins imperfections without showing any signs of creasing or cracking. It's enhanced with charcoal, tea tree extract, nourishing clays, and an anti-aging serum. If i'm comparing the two, then I much prefer the Matte formula, as the Illuminated version is a little too dewy for my liking. However, for those of you that like a radiant glow, the Illumination CC Cream would definitely work for you.
Another one of my favourites that I purchased this May on my travels in the States is Bye Bye Foundation. It's a full coverage moisturiser, that completely replaces your foundation and comes in 12 shades. It's a little heavier than the CC Cream, but does the same fantastic job of covering any skin concerns like redness, dark spots, pores, blemishes, lines and wrinkles, whilst protecting your skin with SPF 50. It contains great hydrating properties which help smooth your skin, and make your skin look younger. Again, this can be applied with your fingers, like a tinted moisturiser, but due to its thicker consistency, you may prefer to apply with a brush or sponge.
One of It Cosmetics best selling products is their Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer (comes in 6 shades). Many bloggers and celebs swear by this product. It's highly pigmented, so a little goes a long way. Its infused with hyaluronic acid, antioxidants and collagen all helping your skin look younger.
Other products I would definitely recommend trying are the Brow Power Universal Eyebrow Pencil and the Blurred Lines Smooth Fill Lipstick. There is only one shade for the Universal Eyebrow Pencil - hence the name, but the colour changes depending on how hard you press down on application i.e. lighter strokes for lighter hair colours, and harder for darker hair colours. It's a really natural looking eyebrow pencil, as the oval tip works well to mimic the thin and thick strokes of natural hair. This is one of my go to pencils, and has found a home in my everyday makeup bag. I'm also a fan of the Blurred Lines Smooth Fill Lipstick, which is infused with collagen and hyaluronic filling spheres, which helps to blur away your lip lines leaving your lips with glossy plump lips. My favourite shade is Naturally Pretty, the perfect pink everyday shade.
